V-Color Launches Low-Latency DDR5-6400

Memory maker V-Color has finally reached the 10ns mark that we’ve previously used to define “Low Latency” parts on its new DDR5-6400 kit. The standard, which was easily achieved on DDR4-3200 CAS 16, DDR3-1600 CAS 8, DDR2-800 CAS 4, DDR-400 CAS 2, and even PC-100 CAS 1 seemed unachievable in DDR5 production kits…until today.

Available from Newegg in USA and various other distributors worldwide, the firm’s Manta XPrism line ranges from ordinary-sounding DDR5-5600 C36 to its DDR5-6400 zenith:

Manta XPrism RGB DDR5 Specifications
Part Number H/S Model Memory Capacity (units per pack) Frequency CAS Latency Voltage
TMXPL1656836KWK Black 32GB (2x16GB) 5600MHz CL36-36-36-76 1.2V
TMXPL1656836WWK White
TMXPL1660836KWK Black 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36-38-38-76 1.25V
TMXPL1660836WWK White
TMXPL1662836KWK Black 32GB (2x16GB) 6200MHz CL36-39-39-76 1.3V
TMXPL1662836WWK White
TMXPL1664832KWK Black 32GB (2x16GB) 6400MHz CL32-39-39-102 1.4V
TMXPL1664832WWK White

V-Color calls that last kit ultra low latency, in reference to the terrible latencies of other enhanced-latency DDR5 kits, but let’s be clear about this: Typical DDR5-4800 CAS 40 is 16.67ns, and even “holy grail” DDR5-6400 C36, at 10.625ns, would only be “enhanced latency” by any previous standards. That fact marks the grandeur of V-Color’s announcement, but there’s more:

Pricing and Availability

v-color Manta XPrism RGB DDR5 6400MHz32GB (2x16GB) MSRP 539.99

v-color Manta XPrism RGB DDR5 6400MHz32GB (2x16GB) plus SCC 2+2 Kits MSRP 599.99

v-color Manta XPrism RGB DDR5 6200MHz32GB (2x16GB) MSRP 399.99

v-color Manta XPrism RGB DDR5 6200MHz32GB (2x16GB) plus SCC 2+2 Kits MSRP 459.99

The “SCC 2+2” kits announce V-Color’s availability of blank RGB modules, which allow show system builders to fill all four of a motherboard’s slots without splashing out for 128GB of DDR5: The blanks modules provide its 64GB kits with the same appearance as those of twice the capacity, but at only $60 added cost.
